Currently living in Quincy, MA, Dr. Ikonomi has extensive training in renewing and preserving people’s smiles. Since the young age of 13 years old, Dr. Ikonomi has had the dream of becoming a dentist. She has always been passionate about taking care of others, but she specifically fell in love with the concept of intertwining patient care with art and dexterity. After spending years shadowing dentists and being exposed to the dental field, she knew dentistry was the perfect fit for her. Today, she remains just as passionate about her work and strives to provide exceptional care for her patients every day.

Dr. Ikonomi first studied at Boston University for her bachelor’s degree in human physiology before attending Boston University Henry M Goldman School of Dental Medicine for her dental doctorate degree. Even after graduating, she remains dedicated to learning more every day, undergoing further training through continuing education as well as attending dental conferences. She’s also received hands-on implant training and remains an active member of several professional organizations, including: American Dental Association, Massachusetts Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry

Raised in a tight-knit family, Dr. Ikonomi loves spending time with her loved ones whenever she has the time. Otherwise, she typically enjoys hobbies like trying out new restaurants and cuisines, cooking new recipes, listening to a good educational podcast, and being active. She also has an extensive traveling list that she’s trying to get through, and she enjoys exploring small nearby towns. One fun fact about her: she used to always eat the stickiest and sweetest candies as a child, exposing her to the dental field early on!

Dr Marie Walsh comes from a big family of Dental and Medical professionals starting from her granddad who was the only dentist in his hometown, her mom, numerous cousins, uncles, and aunts. She and her little sisters used to play in the lounge of her mom’s office in New York where she grew up so the sights and sounds of a dental office were just like home. Patients came to visit even if they didn’t have an appointment just for a quick hello or sometimes to drop off baked goods for everyone. It was a welcoming place to be.

Dr Walsh received her Bachelors in Science from Fordham University and went on for her Doctorate in Dental Medicine at Tufts University in Boston. She practiced for several years with her mom in New York City since 1983, before her mother passed away. Then she and her husband and 2 daughters moved to the Berkshires where her children grew up. Now she has 2 grandsons 10 and 8 years old.

In private practice, she enjoyed doing General and Cosmetic Dentistry, transforming smiles, and improving dental health overall. For her, it has been tremendously rewarding to have made even a small difference in people’s lives.

When she moved to the South Shore, she started working as an associate dentist with Middleboro Family Dental. Since 2019, Dr Walsh has been with Wareham Family Dental, which has become her home office today.

Being out in the sunshine, nature, and gardening are some of her favorite activities outside of work, in addition to hiking, cross-country skiing, yoga, and pilates, as well as being passionate about art, food, and music.
